The Ex-Parte Office reviews ex-parte motions, Orders to Show Cause and orders submitted after decisions on motions are made by the Court. We review these as to content, form, and compliance with the relevant statue(s). This office also conducts the unsafe building calendar calls.

The clerks can answer questions that the bar, the general public, and other court personnel may have regarding procedure. If the movant would prefer, a party may be contacted by e-mail when an Order to Show Cause is signed.

April 12th, 2010:
Effective immediately, all new Article 78 proceedings against the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) will be assigned to Judge Johnny Lee Baynes. Judge Baynes will be assigned to Part 68 and his motion calendar will be called in Room 1204 at the Civil Court Building, 141 Livingston Street. Counsel and litigants are advised to check either The New York Law Journal or the Unified Court System's Future Court Appearance System for the dates these motions have been scheduled for oral argument.
