Approved Jurisdiction Policy - Course content

Newly admitted attorneys must attend transitional courses — courses designed to help attorneys transition from law school into the practice of law. Transitional courses are basic, introductory level courses, designed to help newly admitted attorneys establish a foundation in the practical skills, techniques and procedures essential to the practice of law. Often the course title alone will indicate suitability for newly admitted attorneys — for example, “Introduction to Bankruptcy Law” or “Bridge the Gap.” Otherwise, the attorney should retain some proof, such as an agenda or course description, that the content was appropriate for newly admitted attorneys. Credit may not be claimed by newly admitted attorneys for attending advanced level courses.
