Overview

Established in 1984 (L.1984, Ch.249), the Joseph P. Molinari Supreme Court Library, Otsego County, bears the name of one of the area’s most distinguished jurists. Located in the beautifully restored 19th century Otsego County Courthouse complete with tiled floors, reproduction chandeliers, oak barrister bookcases, and stenciled walls, the library is open and staffed Mondays from 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. The library is closed at all other times, provided that attorneys may be granted limited access to the library during Courthouse business hours by requesting access through court security

The basic collection contains New York and federal statutes, New York case law, as well as a variety of general practice treatises.

There is a  public access workstation available for accessing online legal resources. The library staff will provide instructional materials and/or basic instruction in using these materials but may not conduct research for the user.
